Workplace narcissism refers to using one's position or power to harass or discriminate against other employees. This can cause mental and physical distress to the victim and worsen the working environment. Examples of workplace narcissism include: A representative of a company insulted and threatened the victims by advising them to resign, reducing their salaries, transferring departments, or excluding them from work, and handing out notes to employees to vote. When the sales boss of an electronics company lost market share, he tore up the report, threw furniture, and verbally abused him as he questioned the company's performance. The victim suffered from depression due to severe stress. A doctor at a hospital became violent during each operation, swearing at the nurse and throwing surgical instruments. This has led to nurses retiring or disrupting their work. The deputy manager of a company made accusations against anyone who was in a bad mood, degrading the victim's appearance or family, and making sexual remarks. The victim reported it to his superiors, but the conductor retaliated against him. The above are some of the cases of damage caused by workplace narcissism. Such acts are prohibited under the Labor Standards Act, and victims can report them to the Ministry of Employment and Labor or the Workplace Inspection Service 119. Narcissism in the workplace has some safeguards in place for responsible AI use.
